Modula4 Acquires Heymann Consulting

Modula4 is pleased to announce that it has acquired Heymann Consulting, a long-time digital asset management (DAM) consultancy and product development company. Modula4 has acquired Heymann’s product line and selected clients.

In the transaction Modula4 has acquired Heymann’s popular line of add-on products for Canto Cumulus including Email Order System Pro, Smart Categories, Smart Filters, Cumulus Importer, Cumulus Exporter and List Search. While Modula4 integrates the Heymann product line with it’s own, brief descriptions of the products can be found in the Products area of the Modula4 site.

ImageSearch – Visual Search for Canto Cumulus

ImageSearch allows you to quickly search for images based on visual content. Visual searching considers color, brightness, shapes and other factors to dramatically reduces the amount of time it takes to find duplicates and similars of selected images. Keywords and other metadata can be used to refine the visual searches to further speed-up the process of finding images that share visual characteristics.

Canto Releases Cumulus 9.2

Canto has introduced Cumulus 9.2, the newest version of its digital asset management (DAM) software. This latest release includes several new features along with the an array of performance enhancements and bug fixes.

New features include “Social DAM,” which gives users the ability to collaborate within Cumulus. In addition to commenting and annotation, users can now create special interest groups, get notified about replies, and can ping their peers by mentioning them.

Additional features include basic workflow tools, improvements to search, plug-in support and the update process for the Web Client, improved Microsoft Office support and support for status-based workflows. Integration with Amazon S3 is also available as a separate add-on.

Modula4 Updates Cumulus Reporting & Analysis Tool

Modula4 has announced the release of Reporting & Analysis 2.0, a major update to its popular reporting tool for Canto Cumulus. The newest version of Reporting & Analysis features the ability to create custom reports through an intuitive user interface.

Reports can be created showing a wide range of activities such as search terms used, items viewed, items download, and the users who perform these functions, among many others. Reports can be exported as .csv files or as native Excel (.xlsx) files so the information can be imported into external analytics systems and services.

The Reporting & Analysis tool is available for both Modula4’s Web Module as well as Cumulus Sites. Customers of earlier versions of Reporting & Analysis can receive the latest version at no additional cost provided they have a current software maintenance agreement.

Picturepark Adds Sitecore Integration

Modula4 Partner Picturepark has release the Picturepark DAM Connector for Sitecore. The connector provides Sitecore users with easy access to assets that are approved and ready for placement, while providing full DAM services to the entire organization. It supports image conversion on-the-fly, video streaming and reporting, among other features.

DAM Connector for Sitecore is relatively easy to implement since both Picturepark and Sitecore share the same .NET architecture. No significant configuration or development services are required to get started, greatly reducing the typical time, cost and complexity of deployment.

Picturepark 8.7 with Advanced Video Handling Now Available

Modula4 Partner Picturepark recently released Picturepark 8.7, the latest version of their versatile digital asset management (DAM) platform. Based on Sorenson video processing technology the new Picturepark Video Converter (PVC) offers improved image quality and supports a wider variety of video and audio formats for both input and output.

Picturepark 8.7 also provides improved performance when importing large amounts of files and metadata, especially useful when migrating from other DAM systems. In addition, metadata can now be imported and exported as native Excel files (.xlsx) greatly reducing the number of errors that can result when ingesting or exporting metadata files converted to or from.csv format. The new release also features user interface enhancements for both end-users and administrators and is now supported on Windows 2008 server.

Canto Releases Cumulus 9.1.2

Modula4 Partner Canto has released Cumulus 9.1.2. This newest version of Cumulus adds several feature to the Web Client interface including the ability to mention other users in comments and have them notified, to upload assets directly to a container and direct access a parent container.

Cumulus 9.1.2 also contains important bug fixes and performance enhancements.
