Enhancement Modules

Log Module

Our Log Module is an extension for the Web Publisher Pro as well as the Internet Client Pro by Canto. It allows you to document in detail how both of these tools are used. And you can evaluate the results in specially customized reports.

The user interface will not change because the documenting function, the so-called logging, runs in the background. It registers all logins, searches – either via categories or in search windows–and downloads.

The collected data on the use of your website can be evaluated in multiple ways. The Log Module allows you to easily create reports, which are tailored to your specific needs. For example, you can enter any given time frame and select which user data you want to evaluate. One click and the data is sorted according to the desired category.

The reports can be exported in form of PDF and CSV files. CSV (or tab-delimited) files enable you to automatically transfer the values to Excel spreadsheets. Designing the look of the export file, especially when it is in PDF format, is easy. Among countless possibilities, you also have the option of entering text with commentary and annotations about the usage data. This can be done either before or after the block of data, depending on your preference. The module also lets you insert the company logo into the header. And, for shorter communication channels, it allows you to notify your colleagues of unusual results or create an invoice for your client right away.

Our Log Module allows you to document the following data and evaluate it in reports:

  • User name
  • Name of the selected catalogs
  • Date
  • Additionally, in the case of searches:
    • Search terms that were used
    • Total number of hits
    • Number of hits in the individual catalogs
    • Selected path during the category search
  • And in the case of downloads:
    • Name of the dataset
    • Status (download successful, cancelled or erroneous)
    • Duration of download
    • Name of conversion, if applicable
    • Size of download after conversion
    • Size of original dataset
    • Name of the converted dataset
